Abstract
During 2004, the top fifty pharmaceutical companies issued over 2400 press releases. These press
releases announced deals and alliances, drug development milestones, new patents, management
changes, financings, and financial results.
During the same period, another 800 companies issued almost 2000 press releases mentioning one of
the top fifty companies in the first paragraph. These press releases announced deals and alliances,
appointments of executives and board members with some connection to one of the top fifty, law
suits, etc.
In the past five years the top fifty pharmaceutical firms have issued about 12,000 press
releases, and another 1800 companies have issued press releases mentioning one of the top fifty
companies.
This content, if conveniently presented, would be very valuable to any company or organization
interested in these major pharmaceutical companies. There is no existing product which has the
capability of providing this content in a workable format.
Product Description

This product will be available as a single CD Rom plus four quarterly updates in the form of PDF
documents. The product will be updated every quarter.
The CD Rom will contain 100 reports, two for each of the top fifty pharmaceutical companies. One
of these will contain all press releases issued by that company during the previous five years. The
other will contain all press releases issued by other companies mentioning the major pharmaceutical
company.
Each report will contain a table of contents consisting of the Headlines, issue dates, and
Issuing Company name. The press releases will be listed in reverse chronological order, with the
most recent first. These headlines will act as internal links to the full text of the corresponding
press release.
Using the Search function of Adobe Acrobat, the user will be able to search individual reports or
the entire CD Rom for specific words or phrases.
Updates
Purchase of the CD Rom will entitle the user to four quarterly updates. Each of these will
consist of two PDF documents. One of these will have all press releases issued by all of the top
fifty companies during the preceding quarter. This report will be similar to the reports mentioned
above, but will arrange the press releases alphabetically by issuing company name. The second
document will contain all press releases issued during the previous quarter by other companies
mentioning one of the top fifty in the first paragraph.
