Meet your Workshop Leaders:

John Dick,
Managing Partner, South East Asia,
Freehills
John has spent 20 years in South-East Asia (Singapore
1989-1994, 2000 onwards, and Vietnam 1994-2000)
advising on regional investment projects, particularly
in infrastructure and energy and resources. He is
currently based in Singapore
John was named as a leading individual for Project Finance and Energy
in the Singapore section of the Asia Pacific Legal 500 (2008/2009
edition).
He is a graduate of University of Western Australia holding B Juris, LLB
and B Com and is admitted as a barrister and solicitor in WA.
John is also the immediate Past President of AustCham Singapore,
being made an honorary life member in June 2008. He was also the
first President of AusCham Vietnam and was made a life member in
September 2000.

Gary P. Campbell,
Special Counsel, Australia,
Freehills
Gary's practice involves the representation of clients
on energy project development and financing and
asset acquisition and disposals. He has acted for
sponsors and banks. During the last 17 years, he has
worked on transactions in more than 20 countries throughout the
Americas, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Western Africa, with a
particular focus on the energy industry.
Gary has more than 15 years international experience practising in the
City of London, 8 years as a partner specialising in the energy sector.
He has joined Freehills from the London Office of Denton Wilde Sapte
LLP where he was a partner in the Energy and Infrastructure practice
and co-convenor of the oil and gas industry practice group. Recognised
as a leading practitioner in the Legal 500 and by the Euromoney
publication “Expert’s Guide to Leading Energy & Natural Resources
Lawyers”.
Gary serves as one of the firm's Special Counsel in the Corporate
practice group in Eastern Australia, based in Brisbane. From here Gary
has been active advising on major energy and mining investment into
Australia and regionally throughout Asia. He is currently advising on
Coal Seam Gas (CSG) commercialisation and upstream operations in
Queensland where approximately 90 per cent of the Australian CSG
resources are located.
Gary graduated LLB (QUT) and LLM ( Hons ) (Syd). He is a member of
the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators, the Energy
Institute and the Australian Mining & Petroleum Law Association (AMPLA)
(Qld committee and member of the National Energy Law Committee).
He is admitted to practice in Australia (Queensland and Victoria),
England and Wales . He practices Australian law.
