Ms Beck was appointed to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer for Southern Cross Cable Network in May 2001.
Prior to this she represented Telecom New Zealand as a Director on the Board of Southern Cross Cable Network and was a senior manager within Telecom New Zealand. During her time at Telecom she was responsible for Telecom's corporate planning, EVA analysis, capital investment reviews and corporate advisory service and she has also held positions as a Director for EDS (NZ) and ConnecTel.
Ms Beck joined Telecom New Zealand in 1996 from the New Zealand Treasury, and prior to this she was a manager with the management consulting division of Deloitte Touche Tomastu.
She is a chartered accountant and holds a Bachelor of Management Studies (Honours) degree in Accounting and Finance from Waikato University, New Zealand.

Prior to joining OSI, Jim served for 19 years in the submarine cable industry in the design, planning, installation and maintenance of undersea cable systems with General Offshore Corporation, Cable and Wireless (Marine), Ltd. and Global Marine Systems, Ltd., and has held VP and Regional Director roles in both Asia and the Americas regions.

Simon Cooper is Senior Director for Global Carrier Solutions for Tata Communications, a member of the $29B Tata Group. As part of the senior management within the Global Carrier Solutions team, Mr. Cooper is responsible for establishing and implementing strategies surrounding Tata Communications’ global network investment and cost base.
Mr. Cooper has a wide range of technical, commercial and project management experience. As Senior Director, he works closely across all lines of businesses to identify Tata Communications’ future needs and business opportunities. His core responsibilities also include working extensively with Tata Communications’ partners and technology suppliers.
Prior to VSNL, Mr. Cooper worked with Level 3 Communications where he took on a few roles before taking on the position as the Director of Transport Services where he managed the $50M European Transport Services line of business.
Mr. Cooper previously worked with Cable and Wireless where his accomplishments included many international connectivity projects of both building new cables and existing cable repair management. Some of the major projects included The ECFS, Gemini and The Cayman-Jamaica cable systems.

Jean Devos is presently a senior consultant with Submarcom Consulting. He is also one of the founders and a board member of Axiom, a Paris based company specialized in Submarine systems projects study & management.
Prior this, Jean spent three years-1997 to 2000- with Tyco Telecom, developing Tyco’s international capability.
From 1977 to 1997, Jean was the head of ASN (Alcatel Submarine Networks). Under his leadership Alcatel moved from a small regional player, to become a truly global supplier.
He stepped in our activity in 1961 as a cable engineer in the Calais factory, before taking the position of submarine cable product general manager.

Rick Dodd is Vice President of Product Marketing for Infinera. Rick has been involved with leading-edge optical networking technology since 1991. He began his career as a fiber optic engineer at WilTel in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He then worked at Cisco Systems in product management before joining Lightera Networks as Director of Product Management for the CoreDirector intelligent optical switch. One of the most successful optical networking startups of the 1990s, Lightera was acquired by Ciena Corporation in 1999 for $550 million. Rick joined Ciena as Director of Strategic Marketing. He left in 2000 to join venture capital firm Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield and Byers as an associate partner focused on the optical networking sector. At Kleiner Perkins, Rick played a key role in the firm’s investment in Infinera. In 2003, Rick joined left Kleiner Perkins to join Infinera.
Rick holds an MBA from Stanford University and a BSEE from Brown University. He lives in Palo Alto, California with his wife and family.

Mr. Economides has been with various groups within the International Planning and Business Development department for the past 15 years. His main tasks include: planning, negotiation and implementation of international submarine fiber optic cable systems, purchase/sale of international network facilities and services, feasibility studies for international projects, budget preparation costing and pricing of telecommunication services and management of a product portfolio of international capacity services.

With more than 30 years experience as a marine geologist and applied geophysicist with 22years based in Singapore. Now living in Australia, Graham has the dual role of Business Development Director for the EGS Survey Group of companies worldwide, and as a Director of EGS Survey, Australia.
Graham began specialising in submarine cable route planning and survey in 1990 after adapting engineering geoscience investigative procedures he had developed for dredging investigations, to the requirements of the submarine telecommunications industry; in particular in the field of burial assessment. Since that time, he has become an enthusiastic and dedicated participant in the submarine telecommunications community and is a regular speaker on his specialist topics at international submarine telecommunications conferences worldwide.
Graham holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology from the University of Manchester, and Bachelor of Arts Degree in Earth and Environmental Sciences from the Open University.

Patrick George is the head of the Marketing & Product Management organisation and member of the Management Team within Belgacom ICS. Prior to that, he was Director International Transmission Network of BICS being in charge of Engineering, Operations and Worldwide filed Operations where he deployed the first Pan European Next Gen Optical Backbone. Prior to BICS, Patrick was Senior Sales & Account Director at Mach, the leading clearing house worldwide. Before that , Patrick was the head of the Mobile Market Development at GTS-Ebone and was responsible for establishing Ebone as a key market player in the mobile data arena. In the late 1990s, Patrick held different management positions within the product and marketing departments at Belgacom and WIN. He began his career as a research engineer for the research and development team of Belgacom.
Patrick graduated as a Civil Engineer in Computer Science from the University of Liège and studied marketing at Insead, Fontainebleau.

As Executive Vice President for du International & Wholesale, Andrew Grenville is responsible for developing the international carrier services business including wholesale long distance, international roaming, infrastructure and Internet products.
Andrew began his career at du by successfully setting up the Enterprise Division in his capacity as Executive Vice President, where he managed the overall commercial operations serving business customers.
Andrew has been at the forefront of the telecommunications industry for over 20 years. Prior to joining du, he was Vice President - International & Wholesale for StarHub, Singapore, responsible for managing and developing international voice and data networks, having also lead the Product Management and Marketing teams.
Earlier, Andrew was CEO of a company involved in submarine cable backhaul and facilities, and Alliance Director for StarHub (British Telecom’s Singapore venture). Andrew’s career with BT spanned nearly 10 years holding various senior appointments in Logistics, Procurement, Sales and Marketing. Prior to that he worked for GPT and Racal Datacoms in technical and sales roles. Andrew holds an Honours degree in Electrical Engineering from Sheffield University, UK.

Allan is the VP Carrier & Service Provider Markets, ASEAN, based in Singapore where he is also a Director for Telstra Singapore Pte. Ltd. Allan is responsible for Telstra’s business engagement with ASEAN based carriers and service providers. He also oversees channel models in ASEAN and provides counsel on investment strategies for the region to the parent company Telstra Corporation.
Allan joined Telstra International in September 2002 and has more than 30 years of experience within the global ICT industry gained through various roles in Asia and Australasia. Allan was instrumental in the establishment of the Telstra business in South East Asia and played a crucial role in creating a direct go-to-market organisation to specifically address the needs of Asian-based multi-national customers.
Prior to joining Telstra, Allan was General Manager at IXnet in Singapore, which was later acquired by Global Crossing in 2001. Earlier in his career, Allan worked with Syscorp Investment Systems, Trade Wind Group and Telecom Australia, the predecessor to Telstra Corporation as it is known today, and had various roles associated with providing ICT services to Australian and Asian based financial institutions.

Mr. Ioannis Konstantinidis holds the position of OTEGLOBE’s Executive Commercial Director from February 2008, coming from the position of OTEGLOBE's Executive Technology Director. By joining OTEGLOBE at its start-up in 2000 as Director of Network Engineering & Operations, he contributed significantly to the development and establishment of the company’s business in the Int’l Wholesale Telecommunications Market.
Major highlights of his career within OTEGLOBE consist the design, implementation & operation of both the high capacity International MPLS/Data/IP Network (Multi-Service Platform – MSP) and the New Transbalkan Network (TBN), which feature two of the company’s core infrastructures, while at the same time he contributed to the optimization of the Int’l Voice Switches operations.
Mr. Konstandinidis holds a University Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Athens (NTUA), with specialization in Telecommunications & Electronics.

Wilfred Kwan, Chief Technology Officer, is responsible for Network Operations, Engineering, IT, and Product Management. Mr. Kwan previously served as Chief Technology Officer of Asia Netcom and earlier as Senior Vice President of Network Operations of Asia Global Crossing.
With more than 19 years of experience in the telecom industry, Mr. Kwan's experience ranges from software development and integrated circuit design to product development, network planning and operations. Mr. Kwan joined ANC from WorldCom Asia Pacific, where he was the Director of Operations responsible for overall operational efficiencies such as MTTR, on-time delivery and operations cost. He also led the implementation of ISO 9000 and cross-departmental processes for quality assurance at WorldCom. Mr. Kwan has also held various management positions with Global One, Lucent Technologies, Motorola and Nortel. Since 1999, Mr. Kwan has served as an advisory committee member to OFTA in Hong Kong.
Mr. Kwan has an MS in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University, where he also received his undergraduate degree in the same discipline. Additionally, he has an MS in Financial Management from the University of London.

Mr Lau was graduated in the University of Western Ontario Canada in 1979. He joined the Office of Telecommunications Authority (then Post Office) in 1981 and has been working in the radiocommunications and telecommunications field since then. During 2002 – September 2008, Mr Lau headed the Operations Branch and was responsible for regulating and managing radio spectrum in Hong Kong and advising the policy bureau on technical matters
on broadcasting. He now heads the Regulatory Affairs Branch and is responsible for overseeing the regulation and licensing of public telecommunications services, enforcing licence conditions and administering the telecommunications numbering plan.

Yali Z. Liu is Director of Asia Pacific Network Planning. Her responsibilities include national and metro network planning, access management, technical facility planning, as well as data, voice & transmission network implementation for the Asia Pacific region.
Yali joined Verizon Business (former MCI) in 1995 in Texas, USA. She held various engineering and management positions in the company. Her last position prior to moving to the region was Director of International Network Planning where she was responsible for MCI international data, IP, submarine cable systems and transmission network planning.
Prior to joining Verizon Business, Yali worked in the IT/communications industry in the US and in China including 4 years with IBM China as Systems Engineer.
Yali holds a B.S. degree in Mathematics from Beijing University in China, a M.S. degree in Computer Sciences from University of Texas, and an MBA in Management Information Systems from University of Dallas in the US. Yali holds a patent in VoIP and was recognized as a Distinguished Achiever in Technology at the US National Women of Color Technology Award Conference in 2005.

In 1992 John set up Hentorial Telecom International, HTI, a consultancy company based in Dublin, Ireland, specialising in telecommunications business development. John has provided consultancy to, amongst others, the ITU-BDT in Geneva, the EU in Brussels, Government of Latvia, Government of Zanzibar where it set ZANTEL, the SNO in Tanzania. John is Special Advisor to the Board of ZANTEL and the Government of Zanzibar.

Mike Singh is currently the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Telkom Caribe founded in 2003. Telkom Caribe is a strategic player in the planned deployment of the Indus-Americas Subsea Cable System which is expected to solve the bandwidth constraints faced by the emerging markets of the Southern Hemisphere via the linkage of Asia, Africa, South America & North America. In addition, his firm provides wideranging consultantcy services to a growing number of global powerhouses on both the operator and vendor sides of the global convergent telecommunications sector with a specialised focus on 2.5G Edge, 3G/UMTS, Mobile Broadband, FMS, WiMax, VoIP, IPTv and Mobile TV next generation solutions.
Mr. Singh is zealously committed to ensuring that the issue of inadequate bandwidth supply within CARICOM (Caribbean Community) is not ignored and that both the state and the private sector do jointly address the serious pitfalls that lie ahead for several island states as globalisation makes its presence felt especially in the telecoms arena.
He later finished his high school education in Great Britain and thereafter completed his undergraduate and graduate studies in Canada and Great Britain respectively.

Mr. William So is the Deputy Managing Director of International Division, China Netcom (Group) Co. Ltd., and Chief Operating Officer, China Netcom (Hong Kong) Operations Ltd.
Mr. So joined China Netcom in 2000 as head of international business and has since developed the business from scratch to become the largest in China, working closely with international telecom operators as business and equity partners. Born in Hong Kong and educated in Hong Kong and the UK, Mr. So has a very unique background with exceptional experience in both International and China business.
Prior to joining CNC, Mr. So served as General Manager to an European Telecom Equipment manufacturer and helped the company to establish Wholly Owned Foreign Enterprises (WOFE) as well as a Foreign-Foreign Joint Ventures in China. Before that, Mr. So served as General Manager for an International telecom operator and helped the company to establish and managed a Sino-US Joint Venture in 1996.
Mr. So received his honor degree in Computing Science from Imperial College, London in 1981. He is a member of the Chinese Communist Party.

Thomas Soerensen is Regional Director Asia Pacific for Alcatel-Lucent Submarine Networks. Thomas has a background as a Master Mariner before joining Alcatel-Lucent Submarine Networks in 2000. He has held various positions within Project Management, Operations and Sales & Marketing of turn key under sea telecommunication cable installation and service agreements with a focus on the Asia Pacific markets. Thomas has been based in Asia since 2004. Now based in Sydney, he is responsible for the Australasian, South Pacific, Indonesian, Malaysian and the Philippines markets for networks supply contracts and the entire APAC region for Marine Maintenance Agreements for Alcatel-Lucent Submarine Networks.

While redefining from scratch TI Sparkle IP & Data value proposition and triggering a number of infrastructural projects that have earned TI Sparkle a fairly unique market positioning, he has managed - in tight coordination with TI Sparkle regional organizations - a newly hired multi-cultural sales force, ultimately gaining the trust of more than 350 clients worldwide, most of whom first-time buyers.
Prior to joining TI Sparkle, Nicola worked at Sprint International as Head of IP & Data Sales for Southern Europe, being also Managing Director of Sprint Italy. Back in time, he took active part in the successful start-up of Infostrada (currently incorporated within Wind, Italy’s second largest telco player), where he rolled out the experience gained in various marketing and sales roles at Telecom Italia Business Dept. in the early ’90. Before entering telecoms, he started his career in sales at Sandoz (currently Novartis), a global leader in the pharmaceutical industry.

Inge Vintermyr graduated from the Norwegian Institute of Technology in 1989 with a Ph.D in Materials Science, and he joined Nexans Norway Norge AS the same year. He has been working with research, development and engineering of fibre optic cables with special emphasis on offshore applications. Technical mgr for the Communications Cable Division since 2000.

Associate Professor Sudharma Yoonaidharma was involved in many telecommunications projects prior to his appointment by the Senate three years ago to the National Telecommunications Commission, the first Thai telecommunications regulatory agency. Prior to the present position, he taught business & economic law at the Faculty of Law, Chulalongkorn University. At the University he was appointed a Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Director General of Intellectual Property Institute and Director General of the Science & Technology Law Center. He was involved in many telecommunication liberalization consulting projects such as drafting the two existing telecommunication laws, drafting an e-commerce law, and legal consultation with Cooper Lybrandt to propose liberalization and privatization plans for two government-owned operators. He was also appointed as a World Bank transport & telecommunications expert to work with the Ministry of Finance to facilitate privatization of key public utility service agencies. He led the telecommunication negotiation delegation in the negotiations for telecommunications service with trade partners such as the Japan-Thailand Economic Partnership Agreement, Thailand-US Free Trade Agreement (suspended), Thailand-India Economic Cooperation Agreement (ongoing), ASEAN-China Closer Economic Cooperation Agreement (ongoing) and Thailand-Australia Free Trade Agreement (upcoming for telecommunications in 2007). Sudharma Yoonaidharma participated in the MCL program at the National Law Center, George Washington University, and received an LL.M. from Harvard Law School and from the NYU School of Law.
