World Gas Meter Report Ed 6 2007

In this new edition of the Gas Meter Report we have expanded the coverage of the marketing profiles to review 8 new countries not previously covered and the report now contains reviews of the gas meter markets in 22 countries. The countries contained are (new countries underlined):Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Russia, Spain, Turkey, UK, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, USA, Australia, China, India, Japan, Iran. We have also added a table of the installed bases of gas meters in all gas using countries. The report includes a discussion of the market drivers. Two new issues have been identified and will be investigated more fully in future reports. In some countries the LPG market is impinging on the city gas/natural gas market with consequences for metering. This is notably the case in Japan and Mexico although the circumstances are different in each case. Secondly, central storage of gas, supplied by tanker in countries without pipeline networks, is an increasing trend. End users have meters in the same manner as user of piped gas.
