Report Background
Thermal equipment for the automotive industry comprises a range of components
and systems that are principally designed to promote more efficient operation
of a vehicle' s engine and/or transmission or to enhance comfort for the
occupants of that vehicle.
Although both areas are witnessing a high degree of market maturity with
regard to unit demand, very significant trends are visible in such areas as
technology, performance and packaging. Legislation is driving real changes in
both areas, leading to the development of new niche markets and to the
redesign of many components in order to foster improved performance. In
addition, many OEMs are also increasingly demanding improved functionality,
enhanced integration and lower costs in order to reduce vehicle assembly time
and complexity, improve interior space utilisation and cut procurement budgets.
