After a dawning year of 2005, the digital home market in China is going to
grow steadily in the coming five years. Along with digital home applications
stepping onto the entertainment-sharing stage, the market will be largely
driven by an increasing demand for digital entertainment. In-Stat forecasts
that digital home installed households will reach 8 million in 2010, and the
home networking device revenue in total will see four times the growth in the
next five years to over 800 million in 2010.
The ecosystem is almost ready for the China digital entertainment home market
with adequate endpoint devices, infrastructure providers, and abundant
commercial digital content offered by service/content providers. In short
supply however, are more applicable home networking devices, more affordable
media networking devices, and dedicated home network builders.
