Abstract
India' s design service industry will continue to grow at double-digit growth
until 2010. The cost advantage and availability of skilled manpower has
compelled IDMs to either outsource part of their design activities to
third-party design firms in India, or set up their own captive centers in the
country. The captive centers of the IDMs work on cutting-edge technologies and
contribute to the development of products for a global audience.
Communications and consumer electronics are driving the growth of the design
services market in India.
This report gives a five-year forecast (2005-2010) for the number of design
starts in India. It also forecasts the design services revenue across
application areas. The report also splits the revenues and workforce between
third-party design services and captive centers. It also highlights the
percentage of design work across different process nodes.
