Abstract
Summary:
This report analyses the performance of the furniture sector in Italy,
providing trends and forecasts on furniture production, furniture consumption,
furniture imports and exports, prices, competitiveness and foreign demand.
The report considers both the Italian furniture sector as a whole and
specific segments: upholstered furniture, kitchen furniture, household
furniture and office furniture. The two-year forecasts are based on Csil' s
exclusive econometric model and database.
Focus on the US furniture market.
Forecasts for the furniture sector in Italy in 2008-2010 cover furniture
production, domestic consumption (with an analysis of factors determining the
demand for furniture), furniture imports and exports and production prices.
The analysis of foreign trade considers: furniture exports by Italian
regions and districts, foreign demand for Italian furniture, the international
competitive system, the trend of the Italian competitiveness in a sample of
countries, Italian furniture imports by main partner countries. For all the
above mentioned variables forecasts are provided.
The analysis of single productive segments considers upholstered furniture,
kitchen furniture, other home furniture (day- and night-time furniture,
tables, chairs, etc.) and office furniture, with 2002-2007 data and 2008-2009
forecasts on production, consumption, international trade and production prices
