Abstract
This report offers a comprehensive picture of the office furniture sector in
16 Western European countries, providing trends in office furniture production
and consumption, office furniture imports and exports, office furniture
prices, marketing policies and distribution. Forecasts for this year in terms
of office production and consumption are also included.
For the leading European manufacturers we analyze data on sales and markets
shares broken down by country, by product (seating, operative desking,
executive furniture, filing systems/storage, wall to wall units, meeting rooms
and communal areas). The prices applied by the main manufacturers, their
performance in employment, their distribution channels and a short description
of their activity are also given.
Office furniture is broken down by type (seating: task/work chairs, visitors
chairs, foldable/stackable, contract; operative desking: adjustable and not
adjustable, free standing and panel based; executive furniture; filing
systems/storage; wall-to-wall units; furniture for reception and communal
areas). Trends of office furniture prices by country, and data on productive
concentration, employment and turnover per employee are also provided.
The analysis of office furniture distribution channels by country
covers: direct sales, office specialists, non specialized, large scale
distribution, mail order, e-commerce. A breakdown of office furniture sales by
distribution channel is available for the main companies.
