management space. It also highlights the strategic partnerships, and expansion
(or contraction) of existing businesses. There is also a special focus on the
important emerging markets: China, India, CEE and the Middle East.

- Extensive research is conducted on the activities of 50 providers of
wealth management products, globally
- The developments are analyzed to identify the key global trends in product
development and customer targeting
Report Highlights
There was a great deal of acquisition activity among wealth managers in this
quarter, which is likely to be a reflection of the current tendency for
consolidation among the largest players worldwide, with many smaller, regional
or niche firms continuing to be swallowed up by larger rivals.
In this quarter, significant organic growth occurred in China, with several
wealth managers opening new branches around the country. As part of a strong
quarter for organic growth, Standard Chartered opened a new branch in
Guangzhou, while HSBC launched its own mainland Chinese operations and
established a network through its subsidiary.
