Abstract
In the space of the last few years Russia has emerged as an important market
for films. In 2008 Russian box office reached $830 million, a figure which
includes the smaller cinema markets of the Commonwealth of Independent States
though not the largest, Ukraine, whose box office added another $65 million to
the total. This year' s report sees full coverage of the latter for the first
time.
Neither of these markets will pass unscathed through the current economic
crisis, indeed Ukraine has already sought emergency financial assistance, but
such is their potential that we believe both will be larger in five years'
time than today.
This detailed report offers comprehensive data relating to the market and the
main players in it, together with five year forecasts of key metrics,
supporting business planning for exhibitors, distributors, equipment and other
suppliers, and investors in the industry.
