ip.access, Motorola, NEC, Netgear, Pirelli Broadband, RadioFrame Networks,
Samsung, Uniquisys, and ZTE.
Features
- A detailed forecast of femtocell shipments through 2013, highlighting
which frequency bands and standards will ramp to production first;
- A detailed forecast if femtocell shipments through 2013 by geographical
region
- Insight into the RF interference issues which will be noticeable to end
users;
- A status update on handover performance and related technical challenges;
and
- A table of standardization efforts which are critical to success; and
- Profiles of femtocell and semiconductor suppliers
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
We have gathered the data presented in this report directly from femtocell,
semiconductor, and infrastructure vendors as well as from mobile operators.
Most publicly known developers of femtocells were interviewed and each company
was invited to provide all available field trial data.
This report gives a forecast for adoption of femtocells, based upon a country
level bottoms up approach, with consideration of broadband connected
households and potential penetration levels by country. The country and
regional data is then used to derive the air interface/frequency forecasts.
Input from mobile operators and technology experts were used to estimate the
adoption of femtocell architectures for certain networks.
