Abstract
The performance of the air freight industry is completely dependent on the
growth of trade, and towards this end, the positive indicators in the latter
half of 2005 have spilt over partially into 2006, despite negative growth
during the first half of 2005, and indifferent growth experienced during the
first quarter of 2006. The growth trends observed in air freight are seen to
act as precursors to the trends observable in passenger traffic. The
relatively flat growth experienced during the latter half of 2005 and the
beginning of 2006 has blossomed into a strong and steady growth for the rest
of 2006 which is expected to last well past mid-2006 for the air freight
industry.
