Abstract
The South African water and waste water equipment markets can essentially be
categorised in two broad users namely municipal and industrial users. The
current equipment market is currently experiencing a period of sustained
growth as a result of increased legislative levels, government investment,
more complex contaminants as well as economic growth. However there are a
number of challenges that equipment suppliers have to deal with to efficiently
retain market share in an ever increasingly competitive market. The use of
membrane technologies are also growing in popularity in South Africa and this
research service examines the current use as well as future opportunities for
equipment suppliers.
