Abstract
Coating dispersants are the speciality additives class chemicals which are
applied to coating formulations to enhance dispersion process and stabilise
pigments in coating formulations. Coating dispersants are applied to coatings
in line with other additives: foam controllers, adhesion promoters, flash rust
inhibitors and rheology modifiers. Dispersant range contributes to pigment
wetting and pigment stability, increase colour strength and gloss, improve
compatibility between ingredients, reduce grinding time and increase pigment
concentration in the formulation. Dispersants significantly reduce
manufacturing costs for coating formulations and upgrade final products.
