Abstract
This research covers 2 distinct groups of plastic compounds and composites.
Wood plastic composites (WPC) use wood flour or wood fibre as a reinforcing
material. Natural fibre composites (NFC) use fibres extracted from a variety
of plant sources, including hemp, flax, kenaf and sisal. The research looks at
all important tiers in the value chain for these industries, from fibre supply
to compounding and fabrication.
