Abstract
This study presents the total current and projected average spending per
household in the U.S and Canada on communication services and multimedia
entertainment and their spit among different categories - Fixed voice/home
phone services, mobile wireless services, broadband access services and
multimedia entertainment (multichannel video services, packaged multimedia,
online entertainment, box-office/movies). Detailed demand and average spending
projections are provided along with a discussion of key market, technology and
regulatory trends for each of the above categories. Market drivers and
restraints for consumer communication and multimedia entertainment spending as
well as challenges faced by service providers are also presented herein.
