Abstract
This research was carried out on the South African solid waste management
market to try and accurately identify factors currently affecting this market.
Four market segments were analysed and these included the municipal waste
market, industrial waste market, medical waste market and electronic waste
market. Market sizes of all the four market segments were calculated for 2007
and forecasts determined for the period 2008 to 2014. In addition, market
dynamics such as challenges, drivers and restraints were also identified.
