Abstract
This research presents an analysis of the total Brazilian industrial sludge
treatment equipments market. This market is in the developing stage,
presenting remarkable growth rates driven by the evolution of some industrial
sectors in the country. Also, tighter legislations is forcing companies to
adequate their process of sludge treatment and disposal. As market restraints
high taxes and interest rates in Brazil can be pointed, diminishing
investments. It is expected that this market will suffer a deceleration
process in 2009, due to the global financial crisis. Nonetheless, a
significant market competitiveness will rapidly recover the market
development, which is expected to grow at double digit rates for the next five
years.
