Abstract
With a bleak forecast for the future of the global automotive market, OEM' s
are increasingly looking for avenues to channel their efforts to reduce cost.
This Frost & Sullivan research tries to provide an overview of the global
market for low-cost chassis systems such as steering, braking, suspension &
stability and also analyze the various approaches that suppliers and OEM' s
could use to reduce cost. The study focuses on the component analysis of each
chassis system with price and weight break up at a component level split
across the important low cost manufacturing regions. The study also captures
the key strategies used by different VMs and suppliers to achieve low-cost
systems.
