Southern African Renewable Energy Equipment Market

Abstract

The Southern African region has a wealth yet to be fully exploited renewable energy project opportunities. Most of the projects that have been implemented to date have been limited to off-grid applications. With the announcement of a favourable renewable energy feed in tariff in South Africa, and the Botswana and Namibian governments expected to follow suit in June 2009, large scale grid-in feeding projects will develop in the market.
