Abstract
To date, more than 96% of the installed wind capacity is installed in North
Africa. However, the announcement of the renewable energy feed in tariff in
South Africa is attracting interest in the large wind turbine market in this
region. In East and West Africa, regular power outages caused by rising
electricity demand and dependency on single feedstocks for power generation
has increased the interest in wind energy for power generation. This research
service profiles the activity in the large wind turbine market across Africa.
Slides 1-227 identify the current and future projects, key equipment suppliers
and level of government commitment to wind power projects.
