Abstract
This IDC Government Insights report examines how sustainability has moved
beyond hype or window dressing for many organizations to become
a growing concern for business leaders, making sustainability services very
prominent right now. IDC Government Insights invited vendors to participate
in this buyer' s guide for sustainability services and assessed seven
vendors based on delivery expertise, breadth of services, and customer
references and satisfaction. IDC Manufacturing, Energy, Financial, and Retail Insights
have created similar reports, with vendor participation depending on the
industry-specific focus of each vendor.
"Most vendors embed sustainability services into
existing offerings and leverage these more fungible skills with those
in the practice areas that "grew up" serving governments to
provide sustainable expertise to the government sector," said Adelaide O' Brien,
research manager, IDC Government Insights. "The implication for government buyers
is that there is an array of vendors with the
necessary depth and breadth of technology and sustainability skills, as
well as varying degrees of government experience in providing these
services. Governments that are newly engaging in sustainability should consider
sustainability service providers that have European government expertise and knowledge,
and those that also bring significant intellectual property to their
government practices."
