Abstract
This IDC study showcases the trends in the India packaged
software market. It is a result of the regular Software
Tracker IDC India comes up with on a biannual basis.
To give clients a proper overview and an idea of
each segment of the software market, this study also uses
IDC' s deep industry expertise and extensive research capabilities. Clients can
gain information from this study to apply to their businesses,
to look into the competition in specific markets, and to
gain a deeper understanding of the market.
"The India packaged software
market in 2009 is expected to be tough but better
than that in 2008. It is, however, only expected to
fully recover beginning early 2010. The current economic slowdown is
accelerating enterprise transformation, which is manifested in cost savings, productivity
enhancement, customer retention, and new IT engagement/delivery strategies. Organizations are
experimenting with new business models like software as a service
(SaaS) and cloud computing," says Nandavarapu Kiran, assistant manager, Software
and Services Research, IDC India.
