Abstract
This IDC study offers readers an understanding into the attitudes
and uptake levels of the server-based computing (SBC), virtualised desktop
infrastructure (VDI), and consolidated client infrastructure (CCI) technologies in Australia
and New Zealand. This report also highlights key differences between
leading verticals and organisation sizes in terms of their attitudes
and level of uptake of these technologies. This IDC study
also aims at shedding light into how this technology may
influence the way organisations will strive and survive in this
age of turbulence and uncertainty.
"With economic sentiments improving in the
coming half of the fiscal year, it is imperative that
organisations are prepared to face the upturn in the economy,
focusing on organisations' needs towards cost saving, virtualisation, and software
and hardware renewals," says Vern-Hue Harn, associate market analyst, IDC
ANZ Software and Services.
