Abstract

This IDC study provides a detailed overview of IT spending trends and forecasts for 17 vertical markets (or sectors) and 10 product and service categories in Hungary. The study features overviews of key industry developments, industry challenges, and vertical-specific IT drivers and trends and includes tables detailing IT spending by vertical market for each product and service type for the 2008–2013 period. Analysis is based on continuous research, the monitoring of users' IT spending and emerging purchasing patterns, and supply- and demand-side research.

"The verticals most affected by the economic downturn, such as manufacturing and finance, will decline in importance in terms of IT spending. In contract, the government, utilities, and telecoms sectors will gain in importance. IT vendors will benefit from an increase in focus on the economy' s smaller verticals in terms of IT expenditure. In the long term, however, finance and manufacturing will return to being the engines of the IT market in Hungary." Country Manager Zoltan Komaromi, IDC Hungary.
