2012. IDC classifies the storage software market into the following
eight submarkets and provides an analysis of each submarket: data
protection/recovery software, storage replication software, archive software, storage management software,
storage device management software, storage infrastructure software, file system software,
and other storage software. IDC also analyzes the market size
and market trends by the mainframe — Unix, Windows, Linux,
and other OS environment.
