Abstract
This IDC Study is predicated upon IDC' s belief that the
Asia/Pacific IT services market and the economic environment in general
are, at this juncture, poised at a pivotal stage of
recovery. Analyzing the opportunity resulting from this, IDC undertook a
regionwide exercise to analyze key green shoots for recovery in
the IT services space, with the underlying objective to help
stakeholders in the Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan), or APEJ, market improve
their competitive position. According to IDC, the three key green
shoots for recovery of IT services are demand for (a)
datacenter virtualization and consolidation, (b) hosted services, and (c) innovative
delivery and pricing models.
"The green shoots of recovery for IT
services are prevalent, there is an inherent need to innovate
and showcase accountability in order to gain competitive position in
the market," says Mayur Sahni, Senior Analyst, IDC AP Services.
"The ' new' economy will have more innovative offerings and will
ensure the dawn of cloud-computing services in the Asia/Pacific market."
