Japan IT Solutions 2004 Vendor Analysis

Abstract

This IDC study shows that the total revenue scale of the top 4 IT service vendors (Fujitsu, IBM, NEC, and Hitachi) in Japans CRM, ERM, and SCM solutions market was 256 billion Yen for January-June 2004. Japans CRM, ERM, and SCM solutions user investment scale was 774.2 billion Yen for January-June 2004. The total revenue scale of the above four companies, 256 billion Yen, was about 33.1% of this amount.

"Large scale investments like those undertaken by large companies in the past are not expected in mid-sized or smaller companies. To solutions vendors, the condition for survival is to secure more customers (user companies). However, to that aim, support by large solutions vendors in terms of know-how provision and engineer cultivation, and others is required," says Hisashi Kajita, senior market analyst, IDC Japan.
