Abstract
This IDC study quantifies the U.S. peripherals market opportunity and analyzes its issues,
trends, and product advances. It includes printer, MFP, and analog and digital copier forecasts and
combines them to examine the total market. The forecasts contain data for the U.S. market from 2001
through 2009. Unit shipment, value of shipment, and average sales value (ASV) information is
presented. Data for 2001-2004 is actual, whereas data for 2005-2009 is projected.
"The U.S. market opportunity for hardcopy devices is maturing. However, there exist some
lucrative pockets of opportunity within the market to enhance revenue potential. By examining the
hardcopy opportunity in its entirety as presented in this analysis, vendors can better position
