Abstract
This IDC study analyzes the broadband Internet access service market in Asia/Pacific (excluding
Japan) (APEJ) from 2004 to 2009. This study follows the key broadband access technologies of DSL,
cable modem, metro Ethernet, fixed wireless access (FWA), and other emerging technologies (such as
satellite and powerline).
Key features include market overviews and forecasts on subscribers and revenue for 10 country
markets - Australia, Hong Kong, India, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, the Peoples Republic of
China (PRC), Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand - that are separated by product categories.
"The broadband access market in APEJ remains one of growth. Although more advanced markets
are approaching saturation, developing markets are starting to take off," said Tim Crowley,
research manager, IP Services. "The content business is also developing quickly in the region,
as many markets have either already moved beyond basic access or are looking at content deployment
as a part of their strategy going forward." |
