This IDC study focuses on the IP voice services market in 16 Western European
countries. Forecast and analysis data is provided on the number of outgoing
minutes of use (MOUs) that represent IP voice traffic. The study provides
segmentation of the business market by IP voice subscriptions, outgoing IP
voice MOUs, and IP voice revenues for outgoing minutes.
The information provided in this study is essential reading for IP service
providers, broadband service providers, telcos, and Internet service providers
that are interested in offering IP voice and related enhanced IP services to
the Western European telecommunications market. The study provides data and
analysis on current trends in the business IP voice market.
VoIP systems have been around for years, but only recently have companies
started to embrace and deploy VoIP services, as the initial reservations about
VoIP voice quality, security, and reliability continue to fade.
When looking at IP telephony business projects implemented in Western Europe,
the main reason for the migration to IP telephony is changing from cost savings
