Abstract
This study provides IP PBX vendor market shares for 2005 and a forecast for
this market from 2006 to 2010. The study comprises projections of IP PBX
revenue and unit and line shipment information for the 16 Western European
countries. In addition it contains information for the total Western European
market on the development of the installed base development of IP PBXs and IP
lines.
"In 2005 the Western European IP PBX market grew at a rapid pace. This trend
will continue in the next few years as IDC expects demand for more IP PBXs to
continue to be driven by cost reduction, increased functionality, small IP
PBXs, managed VoIP, standardization on the SIP protocol, integration with
desktop applications, and the need for multimodal communications," said Rogier
Mol, senior research analyst for IDC's European VoIP Infrastructure research
service.
