Abstract
This IDC study highlights the results of the third annual Enterprise VoIP
Survey conducted by IDC in conjunction with InfoWorld magazine. Completed in
June 2006, this was a Web-based survey of readers of InfoWorld, all of whom
were located in the United States. This study focuses on those questions
regarding what telephony infrastructure systems and services the respondents
have already installed and are using today.
"Based on this year's survey results, IDC sees that IP telephony vendors have a
big opportunity not only to expand current IP telephony deployments to new
customers who are not loyal to their incumbent vendors but also to increase the
share of wallet among those customers who have already begun limited or initial
VoIP installations," states Nora Freedman, a research analyst in the Enterprise
Networks group.
