Abstract
The Finnish IT services market showed very healthy growth figures for the first
half of 2006, especially in consulting.
"The vendors' sentiment gives reason to assume that the rest of 2006 and 2007
will continue on this track", says Katja Lepola, Senior Analyst at IDC. "The
vendors that are doing well in the Finnish market are the ones combining
business- and IT consulting or in other ways showing that they have a thorough
understanding of business and the issues facing their clients and are prepared
to deliver according to these. The clients' focus is business growth,
flexibility of IT in supporting ever-changing business models, self-service and
cost. Global sourcing restricts vendors' possibility to compensate the higher
expectations of their clients via price increases. All this together creates an
exciting and demanding environment for vendors to navigate in."
