Abstract
This document analyzes the Western European DSL equipment market during 1H07.
It focuses on vendor market shares for both network equipment (e.g., DSLAM and
other forms of public DSL access) and CPE. Public access is defined as
termination into an ISP, PTO, or other network service provider. Vendors'
market shares are calculated according to unit shipments and end-user revenues.
In addition, vendors' shares are divided on a country-by-country basis.
Furthermore, network equipment is divided by technology while CPE is separated
by form factor.
"During 1H07, demand for both DSL network equipment and CPE was robust, as
upgrade and replacement sales proved key market accelerators," said Jan Hein
Bakkers, research manager at IDC.
