Abstract
This IDC study analyzes the China fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) market status
and development trends. It includes business models for key foreign and
domestic players as well as FMC services, opportunities and threats, and
recommendations.
"Currently, China FMC services are mainly for narrowband voice. The release of
3G licenses will restructure the telecom sector in China, to a great extent
deciding the path, operating mode, and application mode of FMC in the future.
Following the development of technology and the increasingly diversified
demands of customers, the convergence of voice, data, content, and applications
will be the mainstream FMC services in China," says Owen Li, research analyst,
Telecom Research, IDC China.
