Abstract
This IDC study looks at the development of High-Speed Downlink Packet Access
(HSDPA) in the Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) or APEJ region and how this new
service will impact the service providers' (SPs' ) strategy in the next few
years. Forecast data is also provided for total mobile subscribers and
subscribers by generation; total mobile service revenue and non-voice revenue
generated by 3G/3.5G.
"After years of doubt, 3G with HSDPA service has finally made real progress in
markets other than South Korea, with many countries launching this high
bandwidth service in 2007," says Alex Chau, senior research manager, Mobile and
Wireless Technologies/Services Research, IDC Asia/Pacific.
