Abstract

This IDC study covers the consumer semiconductor market for 2006-2011, with forecast and analysis of the following semiconductor markets: digital TV, videogame consoles and handhelds, portable media players, DVD players and recorders (including blue laser DVD), set-top boxes, and digital still and videocameras.

"The consumer semiconductor market will hit $31.1 billion in 2007, up from $25.6 billion in 2006, and will grow to $33.3 billion in 2011. Unfortunately, year-over-year semiconductor revenue growth is slowing considerably, and new entrants continue to enter the market, meaning more companies will chase fewer dollars until fewer companies exist.
