Abstract
This IDC study provides an update on the disk storage systems market in the
Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) or APEJ region for 1H07. The study includes a
regional market overview and vendor share tables for each of the 13
countries/territories in the region (Australia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia,
Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, the People' s Republic of China
[PRC], Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam) and the rest of Asia/Pacific
(excluding Japan) or ROAPEJ. The study also presents updated market forecasts
reflecting the changed market conditions.
"Although the total disk storage systems market continues with good growth into
2011 in terms of dollar values, even more robust growth is expected in terms of
capacity shipments. This is attributable to the increasing complexity of
applications and the introduction of new data types and the requirement to
store multiple copies of data for longer periods. Legal factors like regulatory
compliance are increasingly becoming an important driver for capacity growth.
The People' s Republic of China (PRC), India, and Australia are expected to lead
the APEJ region in terms of contributions by 2011." says Jack Yu, senior market
analyst, Storage Research, IDC Asia/Pacific.
