Abstract
This IDC study provides an insight from a recent survey study on IT managers
and professionals into software innovation, licensing preference, and
industry-specific requirements particularly in customer relationship management
(CRM) application in Australia, the People' s Republic of China (PRC), India,
and Korea. Furthermore, this survey includes the software vendors' mindshare
results for product and process innovation for the four major countries.
"Most enterprises are demanding simpler pricing models from vendors and to
allow the customers to pay only for the software that they use. The vendors'
offering of software as a service (SaaS) is a step towards meeting the
customers' needs," says Alan Tong, senior research manager, Asia/Pacific
