Abstract
"IDC' s survey of 500 European storage experts tells us quite a bit about the
storage pain points and procurement intentions in the market," said Eric
Sheppard, program manager for IDC' s European Storage Program. "What we know
from these surveys is that storage is often deployed sub-optimally and used
relatively inefficiently. Suppliers and their partners should therefore be
working to ensure that these companies understand how they can benefit from
some of the more advanced storage features like data deduplication, or
thin/dynamic provisioning while also demonstrating the benefits of utilizing
advanced storage management software."
