Abstract
This IDC study forecasts the ownership, annual shipments, and installed base of
PCs, printers, MFPs, LANs, wireless LANs, and mobile phones for home offices in
the United States annually through 2012, with 2007 as a base year. The
estimates for penetration, shipments, and installed base for each of these
technologies are presented for the end of each year in the forecast period.
"Home offices have traditionally been among the most advanced technology users
of any consumer group," said Justin Jaffe, senior research analyst for small
and medium-sized business and home office research at IDC. "They continue to
set the pace for technology adoption in a variety of ways, from notebook
computers and wireless networks to mobile telephones."
