Abstract
This IDC study presents a forecast for the worldwide and U.S. application
management (AM) services market for the period 2008-2012. The AM services
market continues to evolve as customers push for increased modernization as
part of AM engagements and suppliers expand their offerings to incorporate more
consultative-led transformational outsourcing strategies.
According to Rona Shuchat, director of Application Outsourcing, "Nearly all
vendors are expanding into other regions, not only to find new sources of
low-cost resources but to support growing customer language requirements and
vertical expertise in support of project-based or outsourced application
development and maintenance. Depending on provider, the race is on to expand
footprints in line with customer expansion plans while building internally
integrated delivery models that will scale at low cost."
