Abstract
This IDC study examines the U.S. multifunction and digital copier markets by
leading vendors in individual technology, subtechnology, and speed segments. It
analyzes vendor market shares and factors leading to vendor performances in
2005. The study discusses the market in 2007 by shipments, value of shipments
in millions of U.S. dollars, and average selling value (ASV) in U.S. dollars in
the United States.
"In 2007, the shift toward high-end devices gained good momentum. Higher than
historical growth was seen in higher price band segments of inkjets, while the
45-69ppm segment showed the highest growth among all other speed segments in
the monochrome laser MFP market. The message of going after page volumes by
most vendors was resonated well in vendor performances across technologies and
product segments," said Sahaja Sarathy, IDC' s U.S. senior research analyst for
Hardcopy Peripherals.
