Abstract
This IDC study examines the China IT security market for the period of
2007-2012, with vendor revenue and market growth forecasts. For many mainstream
manufacturers whose contract revenue has surpassed a certain scope, how to
realize the continuing rapid growth on such a large revenue base has become an
issue that the manufacturer had to face, as early as a year ago. Moreover, in
2007, this issue has become more prominent. In fact, from the view of the
mainstream manufacturers developing the product line, most manufacturers have
taken a commonsense step.
Comparing with 2006, China IT security market has increased by 35.2% with the
market scale of US$779.3 million. The security software market accounts for
29.3% with the market scale of US$233.4 million; the security hardware market
accounts for 47.4% with the market scale of US$369.7 million; the security
services market accounts for 22.6% with the market scale of US$176.2 million.
"At present, none of the domestic mainstream manufacturers have found a better
method in exploring the truth of ' from outstanding to excellent,' and in this
process, they would experience more throes," says Jeffrey Dong, research
manager, Vertical Research and Consulting, IDC China.
