Abstract
This IDC study examines the application outsourcing (AO) services market and
provides a forecast for 2008-2012. In addition to the forecast for application
management and hosted AM in Canada, IDC analyzes key market assumptions,
trends, and inhibitors and provides guidance for the next 12 months.
"Canadian spending on application management reached a total of C$1,368 million
in 2007, while the emerging hosted AM market grew by 16% to C$132 million,"
says Nigel Wallis, research manager, Application Services research. "This
reflects the increasing recognition by Canadian enterprises of the benefits of
application outsourcing, despite the pressures of renewals, business process
outsourcing, and software on demand. We anticipate that the overall AO market
will grow at a CAGR of 7.2% through the forecast period."
