Abstract
This IDC study analyzes market dynamics and development trends regarding the
Linux OS by defining the size of the market in 2007 and providing revenue
forecast for the next five years, 2008-2012. It includes a revenue breakdown by
Linux client operating environment (COE) and server operating environment (SOE).
"The most important change of China Linux market in 2007 was it successfully
attained better adoption in industries and regional customers, which means
Linux began to change its main battlefield from government antiprivacy to
industry and regional markets, this will not only bring market' s fast growth
but will also greatly improve customers' awareness of Linux. Under this
situation, vendors need to continue providing more comprehensive and flexible
product packages, working closer with all kinds of partners, and cultivating
customers to enhance its competence as well as to push the whole Linux market
