Abstract
This study provides a detailed analysis of the status and future development of
the broadband market in Western Europe. Actual data for 2007, combined with a
forecast for 2008 to 2012, is provided for 16 countries in Western Europe.
Connection and revenue data are provided on a Western European basis and by
country. Pan-European data is further broken down by end user and technology.
End-user splits break down into consumer and business. Business data is further
segmented by company size.
In the coming years the focus in the broadband market will increasingly shift
from providing basic connectivity towards providing higher-speed connectivity
using next-generation access networks," said Jan Hein Bakkers, research
manager, IDC' s European Telecoms and Networking team.
