Abstract
This IDC study forecasts market developments in the Western European IT
infrastructure services markets and provides an analysis of IT services trends
among Western European companies for 2007-2012 with a focus on the following
services macro-markets:
- Managed services (network and desktop outsourcing)
- Support services (hardware and software deploy and support services
- Network consulting and integration services
The study presents a quantitative analysis of IT services spending by services
foundation markets and country. It also presents the main trends shaping the
market today as well as over the next five years.
"The Western European infrastructure management services market was stronger
than we expected in 2007, showing a strong 5.13% growth. We take a more
conservative view of the IT services market for 2008, and expect it to grow at
3.43% due to the uncertain economic situation," said Research Director Lionel
Lamy, IDC European IT Outsourcing and Infrastructure Management Services.
"Five-year growth for EIMS is at 3.7%, which is lower than in previous years.
However, pockets of the market offer significant room for growth for vendors
that have their finger on the pulse."
